Troubleshooting

Find the symptom. The next thing to try comes first, then why it happens.

Mid-race, keep the show steady: switch to your fallback scene, then fix it.

Overlays

The overlay is blank in OBS or vMix

Try this first Check the source URL matches Settings, OBS Browser Sources exactly, and that the overlay is switched on in the Overlays section.

Then confirm EDR Broadcast is running and the browser source is transparent. Open the same URL in a browser on the broadcast PC: if it works there, check the source’s visibility, layer order and size; if it is blank there too, check the app and the iRacing session first. A switched-off overlay renders nothing until it is switched back on.

The overlays look blurry or tiny

Try this first Set the browser source to 1920 x 1080 (or your canvas size), then right-click it and choose Transform, Reset Transform.

A new browser source starts at 800 x 600, so the overlays are drawn for a small 4:3 box and stretched back up. The Overlay Preview shows a Source warning while a mis-sized Program source is connected. For a single overlay, tick Fit to source and copy the URL again.

An overlay resets when I switch scenes

Try this first Check the browser source’s properties for unloading when hidden or refreshing when the scene becomes active.

OBS can unload or refresh a browser source on a scene change. Change one setting at a time and test it in practice.

The wrong overlay font or theme is on air

Try this first Set both in Settings, Themes.

They apply live, to every overlay.

iRacing and timing

Telemetry is stuck on searching

Try this first Start iRacing and join a session.

At the iRacing main menu there is no session to read. EDR Broadcast reconnects on its own once a session is live.

The timing has stopped or looks dimmed

Try this first Check iRacing is still in the session and not paused. Switch to a standby scene if you cannot confirm the timing is current.

When the sim clock stops advancing (paused, hitched or alt-tabbed), the control window shows a stale warning and the overlays hold the last good frame. They recover on their own when telemetry resumes.

A car shows a dash instead of a number

Try this first Nothing to fix: the data for that car is not available yet.

EDR Broadcast shows a dash rather than a guess. Fuel, tyre wear and full per-car kinematics are not available for opponents, so they are never shown.

Performance

OBS reports rendering or encoding lag

Try this first Use one Program source instead of many, and turn on Power-saver in Settings, Scene Config, Performance mode.

Then simplify the scene, cap the game frame rate and test a lower output frame rate or resolution, one change at a time, comparing OBS statistics. See the one PC or two guide.

Pop-out windows go black or the graphics driver crashes

Try this first In Settings, OBS Browser Sources, set Graphics acceleration to Compatibility, then Off if it continues.

Update the graphics driver as well.

The Overlay Preview keeps pausing

Try this first Click the preview to resume, or open the Overlay Preview section or its pop-out for an always-live monitor.

The preview docked in the Live workspace pauses when the control window loses focus, to save CPU and memory.

Plan, trial and licence

The free trial will not start

Try this first Create an EDR account or sign in under Settings, Account and updates, and confirm your email first.

Each machine, email address and account gets one trial, so a machine that has used one shows Free trial used.

A feature is missing after an upgrade

Try this first Open Settings, Account and updates and click Re-check now.

The Theme Editor appears only when your licence includes it (League and Enterprise). Check the plan shown on that page.

My licence key will not activate

Try this first Check you copied the whole key, then try Activate again in Settings, Account and updates.

If the key page after payment showed an error, or the key is lost, email apps@endurotechracing.com from the address you paid with.

Remote crew and cloud timing

Remote viewers or controllers cannot connect

Try this first Check the cloud session is open and that you shared the current link.

Rotate link invalidates older links and invites. An invite-only room admits only invited guests. Cloud timing needs League; remote control also needs a controller invite.

The room does not appear on the public browse page

Try this first Switch Access to Open link and tick List this room publicly.

An invite-only room is never listed. The browse page updates when it is refreshed.

The remote board is a few seconds behind

Try this first Refresh the remote browser, then check the Status part of Cloud Timing for the live rate and connection health.

The remote syncs over the network, so a large field or a weak connection can lag it a few seconds.

The app window

I lost a panel

Try this first Press Ctrl+Shift+T, or open it again from Add / hide views.

You can also reset the layout to your pinned default. Some former panels moved to Settings or the sidebar.

The control window is off screen

Try this first Launch EDR Broadcast again from the Start menu, or right-click its taskbar icon and choose Reset window layout.

The app ignores a saved window position that is no longer on a connected monitor and opens on the main display.

Still stuck?

Ask in Discord, where the EDR team and other broadcasters help, or email apps@endurotechracing.com. Include the EDR Broadcast and Windows versions, your OBS or vMix version, the iRacing session type, your plan, what you expected and what happened, and a screenshot with stream keys and private links hidden.

Check the known issues too.

Run your own show.

EDR Broadcast is free to start on Windows. Try every Pro feature for 14 days from inside the app: no card, no automatic charge.
